Electric Tractor at Millbrook (Electrify QT)
Forest Lodge Orchard: Electrifying Queenstown
We were beyond excited to attend the Electrifying Queenstown event at the end of June, held at the stunning Millbrook Resort in Arrowtown. The event, a collaboration between the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce and Destination Queenstown, focused on electrification and how businesses can transition to a carbon-zero future. With a goal to make Queenstown the world’s first fully electric city, the event brought together innovators, businesses, and community leaders to discuss how electrification is not just possible —- but also smart and financially beneficial.
Forest Lodge Takes the Stage
Our very own Mike Casey was thrilled to be part of the event, sharing our journey of transitioning to an electric farm and his involvement with Rewiring Aotearoa and their future vision for an electric New Zealand. We also bought along our fully electric Monarch MK-V tractor, which was a big hit with attendees. The event was all about showing businesses and the community the benefits of going electric, both in terms of economic gains and emission reduction.
With a packed house of 150 attendees, there was a strong buzz around electrification and experts on the panel shared how simple changes—like adopting electric machinery or installing solar panels—can significantly cut costs and reduce our carbon footprints.
A Bright Future for Electrification
The momentum around Electrifying Queenstown was undeniable, and it was inspiring to see so much interest from the local community. Events like this show that electric solutions are already here, and they are accessible to all kinds of businesses, from farming to tourism. We were proud to help showcase how electric technology can drive change in our local communities.
A massive thank you to the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce, Destination Queenstown, and Aurora Energy for organizing such a fantastic event. We look forward to continuing the conversation on how we can electrify the future!
